Oleksii Oleksiyovych Lytvynenko, also known as Alexsey Alexseevich Litvinenko, was apprehended in Cork, Ireland, in July 2023. He was extradited to the United States in October 2025 and is now held in federal custody in Tennessee. In federal court he pleaded not guilty to cyber‑crime charges stemming from his alleged participation in the Conti ransomware group. Prosecutors say Lytvynenko and co‑conspirators infiltrated victims’ computer networks, stole and encrypted data, and demanded ransoms to restore access and prevent leaks. The indictment carries a potential sentence of up to 25 years in prison.
